Coaches’ Corner
 |
With
our winter clinics coming to an end and the spring softball
season beginning, it is easy to see that the focus this year has
been on pitching. There are a growing number of girls who want
to be the next Jennie Finch or Lisa Fernandez. Whether the
girls are throwing the ball around in the back yard or taking
lessons with our coaches, the interest just continues to grow
and grow.
This is good news for high school and summer ball
coaches that sometimes find themselves in a jam with
only one dominant pitcher. If the girls can learn
the correct fundamentals at an early age and strengthen
their pitching as they grow older and stronger, then
area coaches will be in for a real treat in a few years
when they can have two or three dominant pitchers on
their Varsity squad.
|
|
The best way to keep a players interest in pitching is
to keep it fun, especially at a young age. Just
keep practicing and having fun and you will continue to
excel in all areas of softball. |
Welcome New Coaches
|
WELCOME! |
We would

Terri
Cook |
Despite
the Nor’Easter that hit the East Coast hard on April 16, Terri
Cook ran and completed the Boston Marathon. Terri finished with
a fantastic time of 3:23:20. That’s only a few minutes
more than her best time for Boston in good weather. Not bad for
enduring the torrential rain and wind gusts of up to 40 mph!
This was Terri’s 4th time running the Boston Marathon and her
13th
marathon overall.
Congratulations Terri! We’re Grand Slam
Proud!
