In business terms, Grand
Slam's industry category is referred to as Family
Entertainment Centers. What has always drawn me to
this business is those first two words - Family
Entertainment.
We're lucky to work together as a
family in the sports and entertainment business and
we're glad that your family shares in the fun.
Providing a fun atmosphere for your family is our
goal and in so doing, our Grand Slam Family
continues to grow. As some of our employees graduate
and move on to the next stage in their lives others
return home after a year of college. Either way they
will always be part of our GS Family.
Thanks to all
of you who spent time with us this year. Whether you
celebrated your birthday with us, joined in our off
season training, or just brought the family in for a
fun game of Laser tag, you too are part of our
Family. As I travel about in Chester County proudly
sporting my Grand Slam shirt, I am often greeted by
individuals with remembrances of when their Mom or
Dad took them to Grand Slam for a little Family
Entertainment!
Thanks for joining in the fun.

Coaches’ Corner

As spring roles into summer
and warm turns into hot, in the light of playoffs and
all-star games, its easy to forget about practice and
put off learning until next year. That is unless the
practice if fun. Here are a few tips on keeping practice
going whether or not you are in the playoffs. Good
practice drills can be done by yourself, with a partner,
or in a group. The keys to any drill is that it
emphasizes a point of learning and gives you a chance to
demonstrate your ability. So, here are 5 easy ways to
turn a humdrum drill into a giggle fest and still keep
on learning.
1. Turn skill repetitions into Simon Says.
2. Turn form and stance into Statue Tag.
3. Work on form by simulating a Slow Motion replay. Turn
two in Slo-Mo!
4. Turn a simple catch into target throwing, 5 points at
the chest 3 points from belt to knees or shoulders to
top of head, 1 point if its catchable!
5. Take infield practice without your glove
Bonus drill... Get your practice cuts in by soft
tossing something smaller than a baseball. Use wiffle
golf balls, bottle caps, or buttons!
Don't let practice go away just because the regular
season is over. Make it fun and keep getting better.
Grand Slam Baseball and Softball Camps emphasize fun
drills and games while the learning continues. Hope to
see you there. |

With summer in full
swing, Grand Slam USA now also offers Polish Water Ice
for customers and parties. These convenient pre-packaged
single servings are a great way to cool off after
skating or playing Laser Tag.
This particular brand of
water ice is great because it is cholesterol free, dairy
free, fat free and made with real fruit juice. Flavors
offered are watermelon, cherry, mango and blue
raspberry. Polish Water Ice is priced at $2 per serving
for general public and $1.50 for parties! Yum! If you
are having a party at Grand Slam this summer, ask about
our water ice options!

Graham Giangiullio
The player of the month for July is Graham Giangiullio. This is
Graham’s third year at Grand Slam. Graham has become one of the
top players in the Glenmore Little League. He had a great year
as a hitter and was his team’s top pitcher. Graham finished his
great season by being picked for his second straight all star
tournament team. Congrats Graham!
